- Tu cuenta: nombre, apellido, apodo y correo.
- Tu golf: hándicap, campos favoritos y tus botes (scores, unidades y puntos).
Tus derechos
Puedes acceder a tus datos, corregirlos, cancelarlos u oponerte a su uso (derechos ARCO), y retirar tu consentimiento, escribiendo a hola@elbotegolf.com.
Privacy notice
Updated October 28, 2026
El Bote keeps only what your tournament or your bote needs to work. We don't sell your data or show ads.
Who is responsible
Ivan Norman Wilcox, British Columbia, Canada, is responsible for your data and this notice. Contact: hola@elbotegolf.com
What we keep
- Your account: first name, last name, nickname and email. If you sign in with Google, the name, email and photo Google shares.
- Your golf: handicap, favourite courses and your botes (scores, units and points).
- In a tournament: your name on the list, your handicap and category, your rounds (score, that day's handicap, who you played with and on which day), your closest-to-the-pin marks and your matches.
- What the tournament asks when you sign up, only if the organizer asks for it: your age in whole years (never your date of birth), gender, GHIN number, club, whether you're a pro or a member, phone, email, that you accepted the rules, and whether your name may appear in public standings.
- Card photos: if the tournament asks for them, the photo of the signed card you upload with your round.
- If you withdraw from a tournament: the reason, if you write one.
- Names of people without an account: the guests you type in a bote, the players an organizer adds to their tournament by hand, and witnesses who aren't in the tournament.
- If you organize: your tournaments, their settings and your templates.
- Courses you add: the course's name and location.
What for
Only to make the app work: signing in, signing up for tournaments and joining botes, working out results and standings, and showing courses near you. The phone and email on your entry are for the organizers to reach you during the tournament. Your age, gender and handicap place you in your category. Nothing else.
Who sees it
- In a bote: its players see your name, handicap, score, units and points for that bote. Nobody else.
- In a tournament: its players and organizers see your name, handicap, category, your rounds, who you played with, your closest-to-the-pin marks and matches, and an organizer's corrections with their reason.
- Only you and the tournament's organizers: your age, gender, GHIN, club, phone, email, whether you're a pro or a member, and the reason if you withdraw.
- Your card's photo: the organizers and the players in your group, nobody else in the tournament.
- A closest-to-the-pin judge: the player list and the marks on their holes.
- Standings: today only the tournament's players and organizers see them.
- A public tournament: anyone with an account sees its name, dates, course, rounds and formats. Never its players or how many there are. A tournament's icon can be seen by anyone who has its address.
- Courses you add: everyone, without your name.
Who we work with
We don't share your data with anyone else, unless an authority requires it by law.
Where it's stored
On these services' servers, mainly in the United States (the database is in Oregon). When you use El Bote, your data leaves Mexico or Canada and is protected by each service's security measures.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, delete it or object to its use, and withdraw your consent, by writing to hola@elbotegolf.com. We answer within 20 business days.
- You correct your name and handicap yourself in your profile.
- In each tournament, under My entry you correct your GHIN, club, phone and email, and you can tap I'm withdrawing from the tournament. Your handicap, category, age and gender in the tournament are corrected by the organizer.
How long
As long as you have an account. If you delete it, it's erased right away; from the backups, which are encrypted, it's gone within 3 months at most.
- In closed botes your rounds stay as Deleted player, so the others' results still add up.
- In tournaments your scores stay, without your name (as Deleted player). What you gave when signing up (GHIN, phone, email, club, age, gender, whether you're a pro or a member) and the photos of your own card are deleted. Your group's card photo stays.
